30 10 2006

That’s great I am going there this weekend.. but I hope there will still be some.. not only cold, ice and mud!!!

Stavanger? The most beautiful place in the world offered only crappy rainy weather.. almost with no breaks from saturday night to.. now.. tomorrow… next weekend… probably until next April!!!

Motorpsycho live in Stavanger!!!

28 10 2006

Friday evening I went to a great concert at Folken here in Stavanger: Motorpsycho live, a great band from Trondheim.. better, from Svartlamon, a very special area in Trondheim..

[ok :-( today I have experienced already 3 blackouts, trying to write this post.. hope not many more before ending it!!]

They did not want people taking pics.. or pics with flash.. so the pic I took was a bit stolen and it is quite bad.. but anyway I did not have much time for pictures: the show was amazing, with a great mix between old pieces and new songs.. Amazing!

It was really a long time since I had been to such a good concert with this band and it was a great emotions to listen again to their extremely good technique and sounds.. unfortunately, about the sound, they got some problems with the bass amplifiers and even Bent Sæther got a bit nervous about the problems.. to the point he threw a bass away from him and changed for another during a song! :-)

Anyway, all accounted, best concert in a quite long time and in a couple of weeks there will be another one at Folken again, from which I expect a lot too.. Kaizers Orchestra!!! :-D

Aikido Seminar update + reminder!

26 10 2006

In my years of Aikido in Norway I have seen that the best way to learn is practicing a lot and travelling a lot in order to practice with different people and different instructors, to enlarge also ones own view of Aikido itself.

I have been a bit sloppy with the Aikido Seminars page, but I am trying now to update it.

A reminder for the next coming appointements, unfortunately crashing in the same weekend:

  • Anne Ducouret, 4.dan from France, in Trondheim, and I am going to be there!!!! :-D – too long since last practice with Anne!!! Anne has a great, energetic and effective Aikido, together with a very nice personality!
  • Frank Ostoff, 5.dan from Germany, in Oslo, very good practice especially for learning a softer ukemi (falling technique).

Aikido Glossary and Japanese..

23 10 2006

Some friends told me it was difficult or impossible to read the Japanese in my Aikido Glossary: in order to display Asian characters on the browser, download and install the Microsoft Global Input Method Editors (IMEs).

As usual, my beloved Wikipedia has a simple test to show if your internet browser can display asian languages properly and explain a bit more about the issue.

Back to the glossary, I decided to make also a PDF file for the it, updating it step by step, when updating the page. It is possible that for opening this file too you need to install asian support for Adobe Acrobat Reader, and you can easily do from here.

Miwa and Take on Japanese TV!

22 10 2006

Since in the last days I have uploaded a couple of Aikido videos, today I include 2 funny videos (together they complete the funny situation) I had found a long time ago about the two pretty girls I had chance to see practicing and playing beach volley here in Stavanger..

The girls are Nishibori Take, 西堀健実, and Asao Miwa,浅尾美和, from the Japanese national teams.

and, when the big guy takes his mask off:

Christian Tissier sensei…

21 10 2006

ie. the other of the sensei that right now instruct a wonderful Aikido: together with Endo sensei, he is one sensei I would like to practice with as much as possible.. time, work and money permitting!!!

Seichiro Endo sensei…

20 10 2006

in other words: the Aikido I really would like to learn and perform!!!

From 42th All-Japan Demo… enjoy! :-D
