That was the unexpected view of all the places I visited during the Chinese New Year vacations: many many places closed with read posters and writings for good wishes for the new year.
In China one gets used to see shops always open, especially for what us Westerners consider holidays or at least closing days or times.
And when you almost have forgotten about that, you walk around and most small shops are closed for one week!!!
Not even during the National celebration in October the shops are closed!!!
Kind of special!
