Happy Moon cake day..

4 10 2017

Cloudy and rainy, I will not see the moon, but I still got a couple of old delicious moon cakes, 月饼, that must be enough for my own celebration of the day!

Today it is the Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋节, zhōngqiū jié), or so called Moon Cake festival 🙂

A few years ago I got this nice video from a Chinese Aikido friend:

…and I add the memories from my second year in China, when I could really enjoy the moon (in 2010 it had been quite cloudy and rainy!):

11-11, single again!

11 11 2015

Another Singles dayGuang Gun Jie, 光棍节, celebrated as single after a couple of fake and deceiving years, and I am quite ok with the “being-single-for-real-again” feeling! Less ok in the nights alone in bed though, but that’s life! And Aikido is the cure!

Being the the largest online shopping day in the world, this is certainly a festivity that makes happy several people, especially on the selling part of the counters!

Today it is also my 2 years working anniversary.. wow! An easy date to remember 😉

UPDATE: Alibaba beat all records yesterday!! 91 billion RMB: Alibaba’s Singles’ Day shopping total was bigger than Facebook’s revenue last year!!

Another Italian Mid-Autumn festival!

27 09 2015

I wrote the pass below in advance, but my plans changed abruptly because a huge delay on departure on Friday that let me to re-schedule my ticket for free (hoping in a ride when arriving in Milan Friday night) for next week.. So for this mid-autumn festival I am in the Netherlands.. still having memories..

Like in 2013, by chance, I am in Italy for my favorite Chinese festivity, the one I will always miss the most since it is so difficult to find the delicious moon cakes, 月饼, abroad!! Today it is the Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋节, zhōngqiū jié), or so called Moon Cake festival 🙂

Last year I got this nice video from a Chinese Aikido friend:

Long overdue

9 08 2015

I should have done it probably before the 2 Aikido summer camps in July but I always found reasons to postpone or laziness to avoid it. Yesterday finally I took the proper step and said bye bye to my own crappy and not uniform hair cut, with a good reset:

Long overdue cut

project beard continues.. I might need a Harley

You liar!

18 05 2015

Finally today I found a set of dice in order to play again my favorite (drinking) game learnt in China, played everywhere in bars, clubs, discos and KTVs. As long as there are at least 2 people sitting together at the same table you can be sure they will start playing this, soon or later, better if one of the two is a girl because it makes more interesting and gives better motivations, but it is not a necessary condition. Actually if you sit alone in any club or bar you can be sure that some of the bar girls will come to you for playing this game, and drink more together.

My Chinese food

3 11 2014

For some reasons I felt the “need” to have something Chinese tonight, so I let myself perform some “free form Chinese cooking”.

I lack the skills of properly using the correct spices and also to present the dish properly. My dishes look always extremely messy!

After some Asian shopping I had:

“Tree ear” mushrooms (木耳) with pepper and tomatoes:

Tomatoes, egg and needle mushrooms (enoki take or 金针菇, also known as “see you tomorrow”):

And as dessert, the delicious jackfruit:

What a dinner!!!

Italian Mid-Autumn festival!

19 09 2013

One of the best festivity from my point of view: today it is the Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋节, zhōngqiū jié), my favorite because of the traditional cakes eaten during this period, the  moon cakes. That’s in fact how I usually call the festival: Moon Cake festival 🙂

Just got this nice video from a Chinese Aikido friend:
