Soon a new week

25 09 2016

…but for now I enjoy the tired body and little aches post another great aikido seminar in Hannover, with Jorma Lyly, the aiki-wizard I missed so much in China…

Jorma, Svein and the big bunch of aikido friends here in Europe that I could not meet and practice with when in China are among the reasons that make me not to regret the choice to come back…

Many aikido weekends in the next few months toward the end of the year, therefore many chances to work on myself and my demons.

Live in the present, its my new goal and challenge. Keep the memories but not hold on them as my life depended on that..

Like a bokken or an aikido partner, stronger you hold less sensitive you become to the contact, to the changes, to everything else besides your own little self..

Holidays are over!

19 08 2016

Holidays, as in the Dutch “summer” days without Aikido trips! In a way I took holidays from my practice trips (keeping a couple of weekly Aikido sessions in Amsterdam though).

Best way to start the new season is of course with the aiki-wizard, Jorma Lyly sensei, and a trip to Germany, Duisburg, after really a long time I did not go to the neighbor land.

taking ukemi for Jorma Lyly sensei

I had time this summer to practice and explore a little as teacher also in Amsterdam dojo: the Aikido I used to follow (Endo sensei Aikido) and see how it can fit with the Aikido I try to improve now (Irie sensei, and Tom sensei teachings, with the two schools Tissier-Yasuno).

My research in Aikido (and in myself) is far from being over and I am actually quite happy that the Aikido travels start again, since I also miss a lot the people that help me in the task to find my way, and understand myself.. or try at least.

I’m soon getting on the train to Germany (not flying of course) but I got positive inspiring feelings from the shot below..

Flying in the sunset

..and I miss writing in this blog even if it has lost a lot its initial purpose.. but I am not stop dreaming of Asia, and of Aikido and of.. else!

Have a great weekend folks!

A weekend in Germany!

14 08 2015

Back in the neighbor country after a few months, and again, of course, it is Aikido. This time visiting Duisburg and Aikido im Hof dojo. A special seminar, with a special sensei: Jorma Lyly, 6. dan from Vanadis dojo in Stockholm, one of my favorite teachers.

Special weekend as well: we will work on bokken exercises and their relationship to Aikido. I am looking forward since sword work is my favorite, and before Lillsved summer school, it was ages I did not hold a bokken.

Once back here I think I will either buy or get sent form Norway my bokken/jo set, maybe even my iaito.

Since any trip to German anyway brings back memories and I got no better video/picture to include, I want to remind myself the magic of the “wonderful” language spoken over there:

What a lightning! Berlin

Ich bin ein Berliner

7 06 2015

Big night yesterday, Champions league final in Berlin.. my team Juventus, managed to get to the dream day. Against the best team in the world, Barcelona.

Berlin

We lost, honor to Barcelona.. Juve fought hard and deserved to be there!

Even the bad memories of the defeat they will not cancel the deep love I have for Berlin!

A last thought to several Italians (even friends) supporting the Spanish just to be against Juve: the thought is just 2 words, that htey can guess by themselves and then go back supporting teams that never reached any result internationally or nationally in the past several years… Rosiconi!!!

Forza Juve, now and always!!!

Spiekeroog: a new German adventure!

22 05 2015

No, Spiekeroog is not the name of a new girl I like, but the location where I will be this weekend for a great seminar with three impressive teachers, Dirk Müller, Jorma Lyly and Michael Masch.

Unfortunately the place is quite far north but apparently it is a lovely little island, where we will be able to have great Aikido and.. relax!

Relax though is not the word I got on my mind right now, because apparently “ze Germans” are not anymore the perfect system providing a perfect railway service.

Since back in Europe, for different reasons, I have traveled often to Germany and punctuality of the trains has never impressed me! Japan has a “perfect” system, Germany.. come on! Read the rest of this entry »

First Aikido seminar of 2015

10 01 2015

First trip for 2015 for Jorma Lyly sensei: about this time (5 am) I should get on the train from Amsterdam to Bremen, after a night spent in the city (bars with friends followed by, most probably, a long boring time sitting on the station floor and trying to read and not falling asleep..).

I certainly hope to not have missed the train 😉

If I am on the train I should get to Bremen around 9 am and then be able to join the full seminar (other later trains from Utrecht would have delivered me there too late for the first session). On the other hand, I will probably be devastated! Good for the night I’ll be sleeping on the mats, with my precious IKEA blanket, actually defined as “throw” on IKEA catalog: yes, if you wonder I am taller than 170 cm, but since usually it is quite cold I assume a fetal (not fatal) position, to be warmer!

Anyway, as last year I am starting the Aikido in 2015 with Jorma followed by Marc in Norway next weekend.. Not bad at all!!
